Run Lady Clara! Run Sir Isaac!

Today is a special day for Lady Clara and Sir Isaac. They will be participating in their school's "2nd Annual Village Run". Since last month, my student athletes (yes, they can run!) along with the entire student body collected money as a fundraiser for books for the kindergarten classes and school supplies as well as for senior trip and senior graduation expenses.

As a way of celebrating the money raised, the students will race each other. It's also another means of engaging physical activity (which my two love!). Last year, Sir Isaac earned a first place ribbon and eager to do the same thing this time around. While Lady Clara placed high among her classmates, she has her sights on first place this morning. I'm excited that they are excited about the entire initiative.

I'm so proud of them and of their school's savvy way of getting the students involved in a worthy endeavor especially given the fact that the budgets for public schools have been cut tremendously - forcing schools to cancel many programs, including art and music. I wish I were physically there to see Lady Clara and Sir Isaac run, but my heart is there. And, where the heart is, so is love and support.

Please join me in encouraging my daughter and son to have fun. Run Lady Clara! Run Sir Isaac!
